The Internet, The Mankind Second Life

The Internet has become one of the necessities to the mankind. Some even live in the Internet.

If you are observance, you will notice that many young adult now a day are playing on-line game. These games are built to be comprehensive enough to enable players to communicate with each other, trade (sometime to get to spend real money to make a purchase for virtual items) besides completing the never ending missions.

Many people spent hours per day playing on-line game, or shall I named it as role playing on-line game. In the other word, they live the second life on-line.

The newspaper even has reported several cases that players suicide because of facing difficulties in the role playing on-line game. It is unbelievable that one opted to do such a stupid thing just because of the game, but it has happened and many more will come.

If we managed it properly, on-line game shall be something interesting. For example, you are able to meet up with friends on-line; team up for a mission. One, who is shy, can start making friends on-line before meeting up. Some even make a living on-line, for example “The Second Life” is a game that simulated the real life and enable player to make money in the game.

Live your life to fullest, the real life and the second the life.

Work Life Balance, Your Choice!

Since I am so pissed off with the working life and traffic system in KL, I have decided to manage my time wisely.

For instant, after meeting with customer which is around 4:30pm, I was in the midst of deciding whether I shall return to office or to leave the business area before the traffic got jammed up. (Traffic started to be busy around 5:00pm, and will be at standstill at around 5:30pm to 6:45pm).

The journey back to the office is approximately 15 minutes, and to be productive, I need at least an hour to really complete some tasks. Where by the time I am ready to go it would probably hit 5:45pm, the time the traffic should have already got standstill, then I will have to waste 2 hours plus to got back home.

Thus, the decision was I will not go back to office; I rather drive to a place near the railway station (LRT station) which is located just few minutes drive away from my daughter’s nanny house.

It took 15 minutes to reach a coffee shop with wireless Internet connection which is located next to the railway station; I ordered a cup of Hainan coffee and toast bread before I start working.

Even though the coffee and bread were really no good, but the wireless broadband is great! I spent 90 minutes at the coffee shop before adjourned to pick up my wife and daughter. The decision to work at the coffee shop rather than returning to office has enabled me to work 30 minutes more for today, and reached my home earlier by an hour as compared to normal day. Other benefits would be savings in petrol and less stressed up due to smooth traffic.

And the energy that I gained from avoiding the jam has enabled me to spend more time with my family at night and more energetic and ready for tomorrow tasks.

I believe this is why European countries that strived very much on work life balance is always ahead of Asia countries.

“It is the quality work that counts, not the quantity of hours spent to work!”

Pissed Off With KL Life

I am tired.

I was stuck in a traffic jam yesterday due to the road flood caused by a day light heavy rain. I was on my way traveling to KL downtown to pick up my wife.

The traffic is not moving, and I have to keep waiting in my car. It was already 6:30pm. I wonder what time will I am able to reach my house…… I’m really pissed off with the city life.

I wake up at 5:45am on normal working day. After have some biscuits, a cup of 3in1 coffee and a quick shower, my daughter, my wife and myself leave our house at 6:45am.

The first destination would be Old Klang Road, where my daughter’s nanny stays. My wife and me then continue our next destination, which is downtown KL, the place where my wife work.

At last, I will be traveling from KL downtown to Damansara uptown to work and time of arrival would be at around 8:00am to 8:15am.

It is still not too bad in the morning, but the after work traffic is really ridiculous. The journey from leaving from Damansara Uptown to KL downtown and then Old Klang Road will takes more than 90 minutes if I leave my office at around 5:30pm.

The time I manage to pick up my daughter has already reach 7:00pm, you can imagine what time will I be able to get back home.

Life is precious, and the KL folks are burning our petrol and life in the traffic jam. Do we have many options? To be positive, I shall consider changing to a better car since I spent 3-4 hours a day in the car. Or alternately, shall one of us quit the day time job and work from home?

USD 1.99 Earning Per Click

Normally I will log on to my Google Adsense account once or twice a day to see the daily earnings, page impressions and clicks.

The average earning per click would be at around 5 cents to 50 cents, sometimes I got USD 1.00 per click, where I actually though this shall be the maximum earning per click in the Google Adsense program.

To my surprise, I have made an earning of USD1.99 per click yesterday. This is the record earning for me so far. I guess it must be contributed from one of my blog where it generates high earning per click since it was indexed by Google, Yahoo and MSN search engine.

Try Seeing From Another's Point

The train has started moving. It is packed with people of all ages, mostly with the working men and women and young college guys and gals. Near the window, seated an old man with his 30 year old son.
As the train moves by, the son is overwhelmed with joy as he was thrilled with the scenery outside.

" See dad, the scenery of green trees moving away is very beautiful".

This behavior from a thirty year old son made the other people feel strange about him. Every one started murmuring something or other about this son.” This guy seems to be a krack.." newly married Anup whispered to his wife.

Suddenly it started raining... Rain drops fell on the travelers through the opened window. The thirty year old son , filled with joy " See dad, how beautiful the rain is ."

A woman got irritated with the rain drops spoiling her new suit. "Can't you see its raining, you old man, get him- your son............... to a mental sylum..and don’t disturb the public henceforth".

The old man hesitated first and then in a low tone replied " We are on the way back from hospital, my son got discharged today morning , he was a blind by birth, last week only he got his vision, these rain and nature are new to his eyes... Please forgive us for the inconvenience caused.”

The things we see may be right from our perspective until we know the truth. But when we know the truth our reaction to that will hurt even us. So try to understand the problem better before taking a harsh action.

. .. . . . . . . .

A lesson from Edison Chen's sex scandal

Edison Chen's sex scandal that involve pornographic of a number of Hong Kong celebrities such as Cecelia Cheung, Candice Chan Si Wai, Bobo Chan, Gillian Chung and etc is the hottest topic in the global Chinese communities.

Besides looking at the sex scandal as breaking news, it would be wise if we could take it as a lesson for all especially to the female teenagers and young adults.

Below are some advise:

1. Do not take drug or get drunk especially you are dating/outing with boys/men. You would not know what will happened. And it would be too late to know it if something bad happened.

2. Do not offer your body when your boyfriend demand for sex especially the relationship has not proven to last.

3. Do not allow any picture or video snapping while you are undressed/naked. You never know where will be the soft copy ended to. Take Edison Chen's incident as reference.

Take Edison Chen's sex scandal as the real example for education. It is sinful if we look at it as purely entertaining topic.
